Ensuring we have the information at our fingertips which will enable us to quickly supply our customers’ needs is driving some big changes here at Bako Wales.

Over the next 10 – 12 months, we will be investing more than £150k in a new warehouse and back office system called SAP Business One, together with some linked operational changes.

The new system, which should be live before the end of 2018, will seamlessly link our stock, ordering and accounting systems, meaning we’ll be able to deliver the best service possible to our customers.

Once in place, the new system will enable us to offer online ordering and allow our customers to log in to view information about their financial position with us, including current and historic invoices, product prices and business credit limits.

Commenting on the investment, Chairman of Bako Wales, John Hill, said:

“This investment is about providing a platform for an enhanced member experience.  We will be able to offer our customer members up to date information, at their fingertips, when they want it.

“Having a more integrated system will lead to improved stock control, which should result in better delivery rates and increased profits. It’s a big investment in the future of the Bako Wales cooperative, which will benefit everyone in the long run.”
